Traveling Without Sugar (1 of 3): Drinks

Everyone has to take time to figure out what works best for them. But, since I know I benefit greatly from others well thought out ideas and good suggestions, I thought I'd share mine.

Staying on a non inflammatory diet while at home is a challenge.

While traveling? It often seems overwhelming or impossible.  And it's different based on the travel mode, length of travel and stay, availability of healthy food once you're there, luggage space, and preferences.

These are items I grab and do not eat or drink on a regular basis at home. They are for my 72 hour kits, travel, and grab and go snacks/meals when I'm in a rush. More expensive, yes. But worth it.

I've been pleasantly surprised to see much healthier options at airports! Even fresh food vending machines.

The first photo above shows a few examples of drinks I take in the car or can buy while traveling. I especially like the reusable plastic bottles. Although I choose to drink from glass bottles and glasses while at home, these work in a pinch.

Then I can use the to mix and drink my other staple beverages :
Protein shakes and a powdered red beet-berry juice drink.

The two empty bottles I take on the airplane are a glass Kevita bottle and my shake container.

Add a few herbal teas, and I'm ready.

Info on other snacks and meal items will be added in the next two posts.
